We've seen Timothée Chalamet as a teen heartthrob in Lady Bird, an Oscar contender in Call Me By Your Name, a sci-fi princeling in Dune, and a road-tripping cannibal in Bones and All. Now, Chalamet adds a newer, sweeter role to his resumé: that of Willy Wonka, Roald Dahl's famed chocolatier. In the upcoming Wonka, an origin story for the eponymous candy-making genius, Chalamet takes on the part first played to perfection by Gene Wilder in 1971's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

While we've already been blessed with a few looks at Wonka, its first full trailer is a sweet treat for Chalamet fans and moviegoers everywhere. We see a young Willy Wonka set out to become a renowned chocolate maker, only for his dreams to be thwarted by the members of the devious Chocolate Cartel. Whatever will Willy do?

Get creative, that's what.

The trailer showcases some of Willy Wonka's earliest inventions, including Hoverchoc, a chocolate that makes you fly. On top of that, we get a good look at some lavish musical numbers — featuring singing and dancing from Chalamet himself — and a sneak peek at Willy's first encounter with an Oompa Loompa, played by a bright orange, shrunken-down Hugh Grant.

Plus, there are Paddington reunions in the mix, as director Paul King includes not only Paddington 2 baddie Grant but also Sally Hawkins in a star-studded cast that also boasts Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, and Keegan-Michael Key.

Wonka hits theaters Dec. 15.
