Tilda Swinton plays both leads in The Eternal Daughter and that’s more than enough reason to be eager for its release.

Written and directed by Joanna Hogg, the latest A24 mind-bender sees Swinton playing an elderly mother and her daughter. The pair make a trip to their old family home but arrive to find it refurbished as a hotel — one that’s shrouded in mystery and haunted by a past that may be all too close.

While the truth hides between the hotel’s walls and their own relationship, the duo (aka Tilda + Tilda) is forced to confront the secrets they long buried behind them.

The Eternal Daughter releases in theaters and On Demand Dec. 2.
