Frequently Asked Questions

Amazon is a good place to shop for a TV on sale if you're looking for a budget-friendly, mid-sized TV, and are partial to the simplicity of the Fire TV platform. However, Amazon focuses less on deals on premium QLED or OLED TV from brands like Samsung, LG, or Sony, so a retailer like Best Buy or Samsung's website would have a better variety of those options.

In general, Amazon Fire TVs are a good choice for casual viewers who are more pressed on a low price than they are on things like brightness, black levels, or response rate.

That said, there are several different versions of Fire TVs that are better for certain streaming or gaming situations than others. Toshiba and Insignia Fire TVs as well as Amazon's own 4 Series Fire TVs are more basic entry-level models that would appeal to those who care about budget most, while Amazon's Omni LED and QLED Series as well as some Hisense ULED and Mini LED Fire TVs have more advanced backlighting and less lag while still being affordable compared to QLED and OLED models from Samsung, Sony, and LG.
